Gov. Yusuf’s Administration Marred by Massive Corruption – Ex-Kano SSG Baffa Bichi Alleges

Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the former Secretary to the Kano State Government, has criticized Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, accusing it of widespread mismanagement and corruption that surpasses that of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s regime, Daily Trust reports.

In a video that has gained attention, Bichi claimed that the current administration has committed more infractions than Ganduje’s eight-year tenure, which was marred by corruption scandals.

“All the wrongs we accused Ganduje of during his time, this government has done ten times over in just two years,” Bichi stated. “While we could only suspect Ganduje, we now have concrete evidence of the corruption under this administration, and it’s worse.”

Bichi further suggested that Governor Yusuf’s government may not last until the 2027 elections, citing mounting public discontent. He vowed to lead efforts to expose the alleged corruption, warning the government that its time in power is running out.

“By the grace of God, their time is up. We will ensure they are driven out of power. They might not even make it to 2027. Once I start taking evidence to the radio, they will flee,” Bichi added.

Recently, Bichi, alongside 14 other individuals, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), where they were welcomed by party officials at both the state and national levels.

Bichi’s dismissal by the current state government, officially on health grounds, has raised eyebrows, with many speculating that it was linked to his role in a campaign that positioned Governor Yusuf against his political mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Bichi’s former party, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), had suspended him and a commissioner on charges of disloyalty and abuse of power.

Responding to the allegations, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, dismissed Bichi’s claims as unfounded and challenged him to provide proof.

“If he’s claiming all of this, let him provide evidence,” Waiya said.
