We’re Ready to Fight Boko Haram – Adamawa King Declares

The paramount ruler of Hong in Adamawa State, His Royal Highness Tol Huba Alheri Bulus Nyako, has vowed that his people will no longer flee from Boko Haram attacks but will stand and defend their land.

Speaking with journalists at his palace, the king recalled the painful 2023 incident when insurgents abducted 53 people from his chiefdom—40 of whom are still missing. He said the community has now resolved to resist such invasions rather than run.

“Hong is no longer a place for insurgents to come and go freely. We’ve passed a strong message—they won’t find it easy here again,” he declared. “When there was a threat just last month, our people mobilized like never before. The spirit is different now.”

The Tol Huba, who was crowned in February this year, emphasized his commitment to working closely with security agencies to safeguard his people.

“We are not running anymore. We will fight back. Our forefathers were warriors—we’re reclaiming that legacy,” he said.
