We arrested VeryDarkMan over multiple petitions, he’ll charged soon – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says its operatives arrested social media influencer, Martins Otse, aka, VeryDarkMan, over multiple petitions submitted against him.

Speaking to BBC News Pidgin on Monday, EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale stated that Otse was taken into custody based on numerous complaints alleging cyberstalking.

“We arrested him to respond to a series of allegations raised against him by some petitioners,” Oyewale said.

“He will be released once he meets the bail conditions, and we will take the case to court as soon as possible. We are law-abiding.”

Responding to questions about any potential connection to Guaranty Trust Bank, Oyewale clarified that the petitions came from various individuals and that the EFCC has a responsibility to act on such complaints.

He also confirmed that the commission is preparing to formally arraign the influencer.
