Viral Video Shows Police Officer H@r@ssing Young Man Inside Car

A video has documented an incident in which a member of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) was seen harassing an individual in the Gwarimpa district of Abuja.

The widely circulated footage depicts the officer verbally assaulting the young man, who asserted that he was merely attempting to assist his neighbor during a conflict.

The officer accused the man of insulting him, which prompted him to instruct the individual to accompany him to the ‘area command.’

This video has incited public outrage, and the Police Complaint Response Unit has confirmed through a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) account that the officer has been apprehended.

Furthermore, the unit has urged the victim to visit their office to provide further information to facilitate the ongoing investigation.

The Police unit, while reacting, wrote on X: “The officer in the viral video have been identified and arrested, the authorities concerned have been contacted. We encourage the complainant (victim) to come forward for further investigation. Thank you.”
