VeryDarkman Claps Back At Those Mocking His Mum’s Teaching Profession

- Anu Ajose, an Instagram user, posted a video addressing VeryDarkMan.
- The video sparked significant online discussion and controversy.
- The focus of the video was on VDM’s comments about GTBank and his mother’s salary.
An Instagram user, Anu Ajose, recently caused a stir online after posting a video addressing popular activist and social media figure Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over his statements regarding GTBank and his mother’s salary.
Ajose, appearing visibly surprised, questioned why someone of VDM’s status would have a mother still earning a salary. In a video shared by ex-Big Brother Naija housemate Deeone, she said:
“I was scrolling and I saw VDM dragging a bank over his mother’s salary. I had to pause. Wait, VDM’s mum still collects salary? Is she a government worker or what?”
She went on to say the only reasonable explanation for this is if VDM’s mother is a government employee awaiting retirement or pension, adding that any other reason is unjustifiable.
In response to the backlash, VDM explained that although some mocked his mother personally, what bothered him most was the disrespect aimed at her profession. He stated that his mother’s work, though impactful, has been undervalued in society.
He also called on the government to review the earnings of essential professionals like teachers, doctors, and professors, emphasizing that these roles deserve better compensation.
VDM clarified that his mother’s continued service is not due to financial hardship, as he supports her regularly:
He remarked that his mother is passionate about children, not because he is unable to set up a business for her.
He credited his mother as the motivation behind his drive to improve public schools, stating:
His mother is not hungry, and he regularly funds one of her accounts.
