TikTok personality Arifa has publicly apologized to Oba Saheed Elegushi after making serious allegations that linked the monarch to the tragic death of late singer Mohbad and claimed he fathered the singer’s child.
These claims, which gained traction during the intense public outcry for justice for Mohbad, accused the respected Lagos monarch of having an affair with Wunmi Aloba, Mohbad’s wife, and suggested that he may have been involved in the paternity issue surrounding Mohbad’s son, Liam Light.
In one of his widely circulated videos, Arifa went as far as to directly attack the Oba, saying:
“Why don’t you think about the day you will die? King, you will die one day. Are you unfortunate? Are you not even scared?”
However, in a surprising turn of events, a new video that has gone viral shows Arifa visibly remorseful, prostrating and pleading for forgiveness from the traditional ruler.
With a sincere tone, Arifa stated:
“Kabiesi, please forgive me, don’t judge me by my actions. I am sincerely sorry, and I apologise for every misunderstanding and unverified information. Whatever fight I fought in the dark, I am sincerely sorry.”
It’s worth noting that at the time the allegations were made, the Elegushi Kingdom had already denied them, but Arifa and others continued to defame the monarch. The recent apology marks a shift in Arifa’s stance.
