Stars align as RMD premieres ‘Radio Voice’

Stars from the movie industry turned out in their numbers for the premiere of veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo’s latest movie titled, ‘Radio Voice’.

The premiere which held last weekend at the Alliance Francaise centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, witnessed an explosion of colours and glamour as guests dressed to the nines.

Speaking about the concept of the movie, RMD told Saturday Beats, “It is about the lives of people on radio (broadcasters) and their challenges; as well as other things they go through, such as cyber bullying, and having to succeed against all odds. The story is not personal to me. I don’t want to say everything about the movie, but it is a triumph of the human spirit over adversity. That sums it all.”

Asked about the challenges he faced while making the film, the suave actor said, “Every movie comes with its own challenges. However, I believe that challenges are like opportunities; they are there for one to conquer.”

The actor also gave kudos to the cast, including Timini Egbuson, Deyemi Okanlawon, Nansy Isime, Damilola Adegbite, Nse Ikpe-Etim; producers— Blessing Obasi-Nze, Yolanda Okereke and Karamat Eko— and the director, Isioma Osaje.

He added, “I am deeply grateful to my exceptional team of producers, actors and collaborators. This film is a true labour of love, and reaching this milestone was only possible because I had a dedicated team that never lost focus or wavered in their commitment. Together, we refused to drop the ball, and that has made all the difference.”

Guests at the premiere include Ego Boyo, Ini Edo, Iyabo Ojo, Toyin Abraham, Elozonam, among others.
