Celebrity lawyer Stan Alieke has caused a stir on social media after publicly condemning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their forceful raid on the residence of a well-known comedian. The incident, which took place in February, was disclosed by Alieke in a statement on Thursday, April 10.
Alieke, who previously represented Speed Darlington, shared that the EFCC stormed his client’s home without prior notice. In the process, they damaged the gate, walls, doors, and windows to forcibly enter the property. According to Alieke, his client had initially refused to open the door, mistakenly believing the intruders to be armed robbers.
After breaking into the house, the EFCC officers reportedly assaulted the comedian’s pregnant partner, causing her to fall and hit her stomach. The situation escalated with the officers allegedly using physical force on everyone in the house.
However, once the EFCC realized the identity of the comedian, they quickly apologized and requested that the matter not be made public. Despite this, Alieke revealed that legal proceedings are underway, and he is pursuing compensation from the EFCC for the damage caused during the raid.
“This really has to stop. Many person have suffered this in the hands of @officialefcc rogue operatives,” he said.
Sharing an update on the comedian’s pregnant wife and son, Alieke wrote in a caption,
“The wife is still in the hospital from that experience, and their two-year-old son had convulsions & other series of attacks from that experience. Even when he had raised money to fix the apartment, his son & wife still get flashbacks whenever they enter the house so he had to look for another apartment & abandon the house for now.”
