Skales Links Lower Crime Rate in Nigeria to Fear of Jungle Justice

- Skales, an Afrobeats singer, has attributed Nigeria’s lower crime rate to extrajudicial punishments compared to the United Kingdom.
- Skales stated that Nigerian criminals are aware of the potential for extrajudicial punishments, making them less courageous than those in the UK.
Afrobeats artist Skales has attributed Nigeria’s lower crime rate compared to the United Kingdom to the fear of extrajudicial punishments. During an appearance on Just Vibes, the singer explained that the potential for jungle justice serves as a deterrent to criminals in Nigeria.
“There is lesser crime in Nigeria compared to UK because they know if they [criminals] get caught, there is jungle justice. They burn you alive,” he said.
However, he was quick to clarify that he does not condone or support jungle justice, emphasizing its extrajudicial nature and the potential for harm.
In the same interview, Skales also shared his perspective on Afrobeats as a musical style. He described the genre as an umbrella term encompassing various musical styles rather than a single, definitive sound. “No one can pinpoint how Afrobeats is supposed to sound,” he noted.
Skales’ remarks have sparked conversations about the role of community justice in crime control and the evolving nature of Afrobeats in the global music scene.
In other news, Nigerian social media has been buzzing with fresh allegations from Hellen Ati, who recently made new claims online. Ati, a Kenyan woman, first came to the public’s attention when she introduced herself as the mother of a child fathered by Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest.
Since then, she has been vocal, repeatedly urging the nightlife mogul to undergo a DNA test to confirm paternity. She has also accused him of neglecting his child in favor of online fame. In a recent post, Ati’s claims were echoed by social media influencer Radiogad, who criticized Cubana Chiefpriest for seemingly rejecting his own child for the sake of social media validation. This resulted in a threat from Cubana Chiefpriest towards Radiogad.
In response, Hellen Ati took to social media to lash out at her alleged baby daddy, demanding that he take responsibility and stop acting as though he is controlled by Davido. Additionally, she made a bold assertion, claiming that Cubana Chiefpriest was born in 1982, making him 43 years old, rather than the 37 years he publicly claims. Ati urged him to start acting his age, and she didn’t stop there—she even insulted his sons, calling them “pigs.”
