Shettima Was Not Blocked from Presidential Villa —Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed as completely false the reports claiming that Vice President Kashim Shettima was denied entry into the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In a statement released on Saturday, Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), described the story as a fabrication meant to stir tension and create the false impression of a rift between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.

“The latest in this string of disinformation is a report claiming that the Vice President has been refused entry to the Villa,” the statement said. “This is a feeble attempt to malign the person and office of Vice President Kashim Shettima. Nothing like that ever happened.”

The false report, which made rounds on little-known blogs, alleged that soldiers blocked the Vice President from accessing the Villa. Nkwocha labeled the claim as “the wildest expression of wishful thinking,” insisting it was simply an effort to cause division in the government.

He emphasized that the relationship between Tinubu and Shettima remains strong and that such rumors are being spread by those who underestimate the bond between the two leaders.

The statement also referenced another rumor earlier in the week about campaign posters of Tinubu, which the Presidency had already debunked.

Nkwocha reaffirmed that Vice President Shettima remains focused on his responsibilities and won’t be distracted by baseless stories aimed at creating confusion.

He urged the public to disregard such reports and called on journalists to confirm their stories from credible sources, stating that no amount of falsehood can shake the Tinubu administration’s commitment to its mandate.
