SAMIHA Foundation Launches Mosque Project in Gunduma Community, Kano

Residents of Gunduma in Yalwa Ward, Rano Local Government Area of Kano State have welcomed the commencement of a new Juma’at Mosque construction, initiated by the Secretary of Rano LGA, Hon. Ismail Yusuf Musa, through his personal foundation, SAMIHA Foundation.

The foundation-laying ceremony took place on Tuesday, attracting residents, traditional rulers, and religious leaders. Many described the project as long overdue and a necessary addition to the growing community.

Hon. Ismail Yusuf Musa said the mosque project is a personal initiative rooted in his desire to serve humanity. “This is a community that welcomed us and shares our values, and it is only right that we give back in ways that will benefit generations,” he said.

He emphasized that the mosque is one of several projects planned under the SAMIHA Foundation. “SAMIHA Foundation was created to support communities in need, and this mosque is part of our long-term plan to build public infrastructure that strengthens faith and unity,” he added.

One of the community leaders, Malam Isyaku Umar, described the effort as rare in recent years. “For a long time, we have prayed for a modern mosque to accommodate our growing population. Today, Allah has answered our prayers through Hon. Ismail,” he said.

Local youth and elders also expressed appreciation. “This is not just politics; it is service to humanity,” said Auwalu Haruna, a resident.

Musa Sani, a member of the Ward Development Committee, noted the mosque’s potential to serve purposes beyond religious functions. “We thank SAMIHA Foundation for this legacy project,” he said.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Ismail promised to continue supporting projects in less-developed areas of Rano. “This is just the beginning. By God’s grace, we will do more,” he said.
