Pastor David Favour Breaks Silence on Wife Shimite’s Death and Allegations Against Him

Pastor David Favour Love, husband of the late Shimite Love, has finally addressed the circumstances surrounding her untimely death and the allegations leveled against him.

Shimite Love, 48, who served as the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, passed away in the early hours of Monday, April 21, 2025.

Since her passing, controversy has surrounded the cause of her death, with some reports suggesting domestic violence. The Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that Shimite’s family filed a complaint, raising suspicions about the pastor’s involvement.

SP Bright Edafe also revealed that Pastor David Love was taken into protective custody after reporting threats to his life from Shimite’s family members.

In statements to the police, Pastor Love maintained that his wife died after falling ill.

On Tuesday, May 20, Pastor David Love took to Instagram to mourn his wife, describing her as his “personal and special Angel.” He expressed frustration over the “different fabrication” surrounding her death and vowed to speak out against falsehoods.

Additionally, Pastor Love alleged that Shimite’s family forcibly entered his home and stole their marriage certificate. He also claimed that a registrar in Abuja disclosed that the family had asked her to deny the existence of their marriage.

As investigations continue, the case remains under close watch by both the police and the public, with many awaiting further clarity on the tragic event.

“My own personal and special Angel, this is not when you should go. Am going to release all the proofs of things that amounted to your d3ath to anyone who wants to expose evil and share truths. Am done keeping quiet!,” he wrote.

God ensured they couldn’t destroy me after they believed they removed you with their different fabrication of your d3ath. They don’t want the public to know but all their secrets shall be out.
