Oyo indigenes in Abuja congratulate new Alaafin

The Oyo Forum, Abuja, has congratulated Oba Akeem Owoade 1 on his coronation as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo on Saturday.

In a statement of solidarity signed by the forum’s chairman, M Owolabi, on Friday, the association extended its goodwill to the monarch and wished him a long and prosperous reign.

“The Oyo Forum Abuja wants to seize this opportunity to pledge our unalloyed support and cooperation to Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Akeem Abimbola OWOADE 1 (Elewu Etu) in seeking, attracting, and implementing developmental projects to Oyo and its environs.

“We sincerely pray to the almighty God to grant our esteemed and revered Royal Father a sound health, wealth, and wherewithal in this onerous task of uniting and defending the interests of the entire Empire (Yoruba land) and taking it to its greater height.

“May your reign be peaceful and bring forth a good tiding to the entire Yoruba race in particular and the humanity in general,” the statement read.
