New Sect Promoting African Traditions, Linked to Human Trafficking, Emerges in Kaduna

A new sect allegedly involved in international human trafficking has been uncovered in Kaduna State, according to intelligence reports.
Identified as ACHAD Life Mission International, the sect is reportedly recruiting members both within and outside Nigeria. Its leader, Mr. Yokana, resides in Jos, Plateau State, while its headquarters is located in Kaduna.
The sect rejects both Islam and Christianity, instead advocating for the restoration of African traditions and promoting support for humanity. However, intelligence reports have linked the group to activities such as human trafficking and child separation.
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) disclosed this in a circular titled “Emergence of New Sect ACHAD Life Mission International,” dated January 14, 2025. The circular was signed by CIS A.A. Aridegbe, the Principal Staff Officer to the Comptroller-General of the NIS.
The circular stated:
“I am directed to inform you that intelligence gathered by the service reveals the emergence of a new sect called ACHAD Life Mission International.
“The intelligence reports indicate that the sect has its headquarters in Kaduna, while its leader, Mr. Yokana, resides in Jos, Plateau State.
“It further notes that the sect neither believes in Islam nor Christianity but preaches the restoration of African traditions and support for humanity.
“The intelligence also reveals that the sect has been canvassing for members both within and outside Nigeria and is possibly involved in human trafficking and child separation. “
“In light of the above, you are expected to remain vigilant and report immediately any signs of the sects activities. Where possible, you are to arrest and provide updates accordingly. This is for your information and strict compliance.”
The circular was distributed to all NIS Directorates, Zones, Training Institutions, and State Commands.
