Nana Shettima: Tinubu ‘Baking a New Cake’ for Nigerians

The wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a visionary leader who is ‘baking a new cake’ to benefit both present and future generations of Nigerians.
Speaking in Maiduguri, Borno State, during an annual Ramadan feast attended by women groups, students, and community leaders, Hajiya Shettima praised the administration’s economic reforms, empowerment programmes, and strategic investments across key sectors. She emphasized that these initiatives are laying a solid foundation for a prosperous Nigeria.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is baking a new cake for us today and for the Nigerian children and grandchildren who will come after us,” she stated. “With the strong support of our esteemed First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, they both have the best interests of our country at heart.”
In a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the President on Media & ICT in the Office of the Vice President, Kwapchi Bata Hamman, Hajiya Shettima urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration through prayers and constructive engagement.
She called for a shift away from politically motivated criticism towards offering thoughtful suggestions that can help guide policies.
“We should always remember the President and his team in our prayers,” she added, reaffirming Tinubu’s commitment to Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
She also commended the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative for its significant impact on vulnerable groups, including women, children, and people living with disabilities.
At the event, the Director General of the Maryam Babangida Centre for Women Development, Dr. Asabe Bashir, underscored the importance of spiritual discipline during Ramadan.
She expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for selecting Vice President Kashim Shettima from Borno State, reinforcing the region’s representation at the highest level.
“We must continue to pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu’s administration because when it succeeds, we all succeed,” she remarked.
