Mr P Clears Confusion Following Arrest Of Namesake In Ghana

  • Mr P from the music duo Psquare, addressed a viral video of a man with his name being arrested in Ghana.
  • The arrested individual, also named Peter Okoye, faced kidnapping charges.

Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P and one half of the legendary music duo Psquare, has addressed a viral video circulating online that shows a man with his name being arrested in Ghana.

The individual, also named Peter Okoye, was reportedly detained by Ghanaian authorities on kidnapping charges, causing confusion among fans and the public who initially linked the incident to the famous singer.

Mr P quickly took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to set the record straight, urging people to distinguish between him and the other Peter Okoye. He posted:

“Please make sure you specify which ‘PETER OKOYE’ you’re talking about. I am not a thief.”

In the midst of the online discussion, Legit.ng recalled a moment from April when Mr P delivered an emotional speech at AY Live. He candidly spoke about the breakup of Psquare, attributing part of the discord to constant comparisons by fans between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye (known as Rudeboy).

On stage, Mr P shared:

“The fans caused a lot of problems. They kept comparing us and choosing sides, and that affected us deeply.”

@ambitiousGunner:“We know you’re not a thief, but thanks for clearing your name without insulting anyone, a rare trait these days. However, I can’t help myself from laughing at the way you said it.”

@streetupdate24_:“You go too explain no evidence!!! I don tell my guys say u thief!!! You need arrest these bloggers.”

@deBlockholder:“Chief, you should also know that name doesn’t belong to one person on this continent or even in Nigeria. Every Peter Okoye is Peter Okoye. So far as it’s not you then we thank God, just like how you’re silently happy it’s not you. Don’t find this as an insult, legend.”
