“Ijebu Ode” is trending on X (formerly Twitter) as the story of Esther Oladele, a candidate for the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), captures attention. Esther, who had been missing for the past 24 hours, has been located in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Esther’s disappearance occurred after she reportedly boarded the wrong bus along the Ajah-Epe road in Lagos. The news was shared on Friday by an X user with the handle @Mayorjohnson1, who stated he is her brother.

According to the post, Esther had left home on Thursday to stay with a family friend in Epe ahead of her JAMB exam scheduled for the next day. Her brother shared her last communication, which was an alarming text claiming she had entered the wrong bus.

“We’re looking for my kid sister since yesterday afternoon. She was to go from Ajah to Epe to stay with a family friend for her JAMB exam this morning at 9 am. Her last statement was ‘I’m scared I think I entered the wrong car, my eyes are itchy, and it feels like I want to sleep.’ We’re yet to hear from her,” Johnson wrote.

He also revealed that a report had been filed with the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, and the police confirmed that an investigation would begin.

However, on Saturday afternoon, a positive update emerged. @Mayorjohnson1 shared that Esther had been found. She was dropped off in Ijebu Ode earlier that morning. Overwhelmed with gratitude, he thanked everyone for their support on the platform.

“We FOUND MY KID SIS (ESTHER). Thank God, thank you all! Esther was dropped at Ijebu Ode this morning.”
