A Nigerian man has reportedly spent millions of naira on a fully furnished apartment in the upscale Ikoyi area of Lagos for a lady he met on Facebook. However, he was left heartbroken when he discovered that she had moved in with her real boyfriend, despite initially introducing him as her brother.

The shocking incident was shared in a viral post by a user on X (formerly Twitter), under the handle @SirDavidBent. According to the post, the man had recently entered a relationship with the woman online and, as a gesture of goodwill, decided to rent a luxury apartment for her in Ikoyi.

In addition to paying for the apartment’s two-year rent in advance, he went the extra mile by fully furnishing the space to her liking. However, much to his dismay, the woman relocated to the apartment with her actual boyfriend, whom she had earlier introduced to him as a sibling.

Despite the man’s financial generosity, the woman continued to accept money from him while cohabiting with her true partner.

“I know someone who rented an apartment in Ikoyi, furnished it & paid two years rent in advance for a lady he recently met on Facebook,” the post read.

“The babe moved into the apartment with her real boyfriend (claimed he was her brother) & kept collecting money from the mumu man.”
