Lady Laments as Recipient Refuses to Refund N800k Mistakenly Transferred

- Despite her prompt action to report the incident, her efforts to recover the money have so far been unsuccessful.
- She revealed that GTBank was able to contact the recipient of the funds, but the individual blatantly refused to return the money and had allegedly begun spending it.
A young woman from Nigeria is asking for help on social media after accidentally sending N800,000 to someone she doesn’t know, who is reportedly not returning the money.
The woman, known as @ii_kach on X (formerly Twitter), shared her frustration and emotional pain about the mistake.
She explained that the money was sent from her Union Bank account to a GTBank account due to a mistake in entering the account number.
“Please help me😭😭. I’m losing my mind 😭😭. I mistakenly sent 800,000 naira to a wrong account number (GTB BANK). I sent it from my Union Bank. I’ve been to GTB bank to make complaint and I was told that the account cannot be put on hold,” she wrote.
Despite her quick reporting of the issue, she has not been able to get the money back.
In a later post, she mentioned that GTBank contacted the person who received the money, but that person refused to return it and has started spending it.
“The bank has reached out to the recipient and she refused to send the money back. She has also started spending the money 😭😭,” @ii_kach lamented.
