Kano Suspends April Sanitation for UTME Exams

The Kano State Government has suspended the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for April 2025 to allow students to sit for the ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations without disruption.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the decision was made after consultations with stakeholders.

“The suspension is aimed at preventing any potential disruptions to the examination process and ensuring that candidates can sit for their exams without any hindrance,” said Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru M. Hashim, in a statement issued by the ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Ismail Garba Gwammaja.

Dr. Hashim said the suspension is a one-time adjustment and that the exercise will resume in May 2025. He also asked residents to cooperate.

“We are committed to maintaining a clean and healthy environment, and we will work tirelessly to ensure that our sanitation activities do not conflict with other important events in the state,” he said.

Dr. Hashim also asked the public to avoid indiscriminate waste disposal and encouraged prayers for the students taking the JAMB exams.
