Justice Wada Rano’s Death a Blow to Kano Judiciary — Federal Lawmaker Kabiru Rurum

The Member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has expressed sorrow over the death of Retired Justice Wada Umar Rano, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 75.
Justice Rano, holder of the traditional title of Madakin Rano, was a former Judge of the Kano State High Court and a notable personality within the legal and traditional institutions in Kano State.
In a condolence message, Hon. Rurum acknowledged the late jurist’s long-standing service to the judiciary, his role in community affairs, and his contributions to the public.
“With a heavy heart, I received the news of the passing of Retired Justice Wada Umar Rano,” Rurum stated. “His death represents a significant loss to the Rano Emirate, the judiciary in Kano State, and the entire Federal Constituency.”
He noted that Justice Rano’s impact went beyond judicial responsibilities, as he also played important roles in traditional leadership and local governance efforts.
“His years on the bench earned him regard in various sectors, and his traditional role highlighted his continued engagement in societal development,” he said.
Hon. Rurum further stated that while the community is in mourning, it is important to remember the contributions and values upheld by the deceased.
“As we reflect on his passing, we also acknowledge a life dedicated to service and public responsibility. He leaves behind a record of fairness, honesty, and civic engagement,” the lawmaker added.
He extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the Rano Emirate Council, the Kano State judiciary, and others impacted by Justice Rano’s death.
“On behalf of the people of Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure, I offer my condolences… May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him peace in the hereafter, and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus,” Hon. Rurum added.
