JAMB Candidate Expresses Disappointment Over Utme Score Despite Extensive Preparation

A Nigerian student has turned to social media to voice her frustration after receiving a score of 155 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), despite months of thorough preparation using past questions and excelling in mock exams.

In a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), the candidate shared her shock at the unexpected result, which came after her diligent efforts to improve on her previous year’s performance. She had sat for the JAMB exam last year and achieved an excellent score, but was unable to secure university admission due to unforeseen challenges.

Motivated to do even better this year, the candidate revealed that she diligently studied over 25 sets of past questions and scored impressively in her mock exams. Despite her hard work, she was stunned when she checked her UTME result and found a score of only 155.

She expressed her disbelief, saying, “This year, I was fully prepared for JAMB. I studied over 25 past question sets, but when I saw my result this morning, I couldn’t believe it.”

She continued, “In all the JAMB and mock exams I’ve taken, I’ve never scored below 250. It’s unbelievable that JAMB gave me only 155.”

Her father also added his voice to the matter, supporting his daughter’s claims and describing her experience at the Computer-Based Test (CBT) center during the exam.
