JAMB 2025: My Daughter Drank Rat Po!son – Father Of Girl That Committed Su!c!de Reveals

Mr. Opesusi Oluwafemi, the father of 19-year-old Faith Opesusi Timileyin, who sadly took her own life following a disappointing score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has disclosed that she died after consuming rat poison.
It is important to note that Faith, who aspired to pursue a degree in Microbiology, ended her life upon receiving her UTME results.
Opesusi shared with BBC Pidgin on Thursday that his daughter was heartbroken upon learning she had scored only 146.
“My daughter scored very high in last year’s JAMB result. This year, they gave her 146 and that was what made her drink rat poison.
“She was devastated and disappointed when she saw her results,” he said.
He further mentioned that his daughter had not confided in him. ‘“If she had opened up, we would have consoled and told her that there is hope.”
It is also noteworthy that the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, acknowledged on Wednesday that there were mistakes in the recently concluded 2025 UTME.
Oloyede, visibly emotional while speaking to reporters, extended his apologies to the candidates affected by these errors, which impacted at least 379,997 individuals.
