Insecurity: No More Petrol in Bama, Banki, Zulum Declares

Amid ongoing attacks in Borno State, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has ordered a ban on the sale of petrol in Bama town, Banki, and other parts of Bama Local Government Area.
Zulum said the decision followed consultations with security agencies and aims to disrupt fuel access for insurgents.
“This ban takes effect immediately,” Zulum said on Saturday. “And let me be clear—there will be no exceptions. Security operatives have been directed to clamp down on any filling station or individual who flouts this order. Offenders will face the full weight of the law.”
Dauda Iliya, spokesperson to the governor, said the move is intended to support military operations in the area.
Borno has recorded a series of deadly incidents. Last month, more than 26 people were killed and three injured in an explosion along the Rann–Kala Balge–Gamboru Ngala road. Earlier this week, five children were wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mafa LGA.
