Juju music legend Sunday Adegeye, widely known as King Sunny Ade, has responded to rumors about his alleged kidnapping, sharing a video online to confirm he is safe and sound.

The rumors began after Gistlover reported that King Sunny Ade’s daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, raised the alarm over her father’s disappearance, accusing his manager and stepbrother, Dayo Adegeye, of being involved.

In a social media post, Damilola claimed that the 78-year-old music icon had been unreachable for weeks, with reports suggesting that his manager had been moving him between different hotels and cutting off contact with his family.

However, King Sunny Ade took to social media to clarify the situation, revealing that he had not been kidnapped but simply needed some time away for rest. In his video message, he explained:
“My children wanted to see me, they thought I was kidnapped after I went away for a few days to rest. But I thank God, I was not k!dnapped and I didn’t k!dnap myself.”

The video followed a statement from his manager, who also denied the kidnapping allegations, further easing concerns.
