Ugochukwu Innocent Obi, a gospel artist from Abia State, has opened up about how prayer plays a central role in the creation of his songs. In a recent interview with The Nation, the talented musician explained that his journey into gospel music was inspired by divine experiences during his prayers.

He shared, “For me, the motivation to create gospel music comes from God. When I pray, I often hear melodies that feel heavenly, and I find myself singing new songs. My desire is to bring these heavenly sounds to life here on earth.”

Although Obi hails from Uhuolugho Ngodo Isuochi in Umunneochi L.G.A., he was born in Ibeku Umuahia. He later moved to Lagos, where he spent much of his life before relocating to the United States in 2010. There, he expanded his career in government contracting, earning multiple certifications.

As a contracting professional with the U.S. Department of Defense, Obi has also made a name for himself as a preacher, author, and gospel musician. He has released several popular songs, including You Alone, Holy One, Elohim Let Me See You, Let It Flow, The Light of Your Presence, Arise from the Wings, Spirit of the Living God, and I Give You Praise.

Reflecting on his spiritual journey, Obi recalled, “I gave my life to Christ in 1995 and have had the privilege of pastoring in various capacities across different nations.”

Through his music and ministry, Obi continues to share his profound faith and divine inspirations with the world.
