“I Can’t Be With Someone Who Hates Plantain”- Falz Says

  • Nigerian rapper and actor Falz shared his food preferences on social media.
  • He expressed a strong affection for plantain, highlighting its importance to him.
  • Falz humorously suggested that a partner’s lack of love for plantain could jeopardize their relationship.

Nigerian rapper, actor, and songwriter, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, recently shared some personal details about his food preferences, causing a stir on social media.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Falz revealed that plantain holds a special place in his heart. He even joked that a romantic relationship could be at risk if his partner does not share the same love for the food.

He wrote, “Not liking plantain is serious grounds for break up.”

Fans quickly reacted to the post, with many agreeing with Falz, noting how beloved plantain is in many Nigerian homes. Some, however, found his standard for relationships amusing.

In another post, Falz went on to reveal the meal he could never get tired of eating. He stated, “One meal I can eat everyday for the rest of my life – boiled yam and fried eggs.”

The simplicity of his favorite dish resonated with many of his followers, who praised the choice for being both traditional and satisfying.

However, not all foods made it onto Falz’s good list. In a more controversial opinion, the rapper criticized semovita, commonly known as semo, saying it should not even be regarded as food.

“I wouldn’t advise eating semo in the morning…or any time of the day in fact. It shouldn’t be food,” Falz wrote.

His remarks about semo quickly sparked mixed reactions online. While some agreed with his assessment, others strongly defended semo, emphasizing its place in Nigerian culinary culture.

Falz’s candid food preferences not only entertained his fans but also ignited broader conversations about favorite meals and cultural tastes.
