Groom And 3 Friends Arrested Over Wife’s Death In Alleged Forced Marathon Sex

A 20-year-old groom, Auwal Abdulwahab, has been taken into custody by the Jigawa State Police along with three of his friends after a tragic incident in which his wife died following an alleged forced sexual encounter. The incident took place on Saturday night, April 26, 2025, in Tungo village, Albasu District, within the Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area.

According to the spokesperson for the police, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the groom is believed to have planned the act prior to their wedding. Reports indicate that the bride had previously refused to engage in any sexual relations with her husband until after their marriage.

The police revealed that Abdulwahab conspired with his friends—Nura Basiru, Muttaka Lawan, and Hamisu Musa—to forcibly enter the couple’s home and coerce the bride into non-consensual sexual activity. Tragically, during the ordeal, the wife passed away.

Upon receiving a report, the police transported her body to the Gumel General Hospital for an autopsy, where doctors confirmed her death. The body has since been released to her family for burial.

The case is currently under investigation as the police continue their efforts to bring justice to the victim.
