Gov. Yusuf’s Award a Collective Victory for Kano – Commissioner Aisha Saji Rano

The Kano State Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, has congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on being honoured with the 2024 Governor of the Year (Good Governance) Award by Vanguard Newspaper.

In her message of felicitation, Hajiya Aisha Saji described the award as a recognition of Governor Yusuf’s efforts in transforming the lives of Kano citizens through investments in education, healthcare, and social welfare.

“His Excellency has remained focused and people-oriented in his approach to governance,” she said. “This award is a testament to the fact that good leadership still matters and does not go unnoticed. We are proud to be part of this journey of progress and accountability.”

The award ceremony, held in Lagos, brought together prominent figures from across the country to celebrate leadership and service.

Vanguard’s Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Eze Anaba, commended Governor Yusuf for raising the bar in public service through innovative and inclusive policies. Similarly, the Chairman of the event, Atedo Peterside, noted that the selection of the awardees was based strictly on merit and verifiable impact.

Governor Yusuf, while receiving the award, expressed gratitude to Vanguard and dedicated the honour to the people of Kano State. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing education, healthcare, and social development.

Aisha Saji, urged the people of Kano to continue supporting the administration, emphasizing that the Governor’s achievements are a collective victory for the state. “This is not just an award for Governor Abba Yusuf—it is a celebration of Kano’s journey towards good governance,” she added.
