Gov Yusuf Approves Recruitment of 4,000 Teachers

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has announced the recruitment of over 4,000 teachers who recently completed the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme.

The announcement was made on Monday during a ceremony for the distribution of instructional materials to public schools in the state.

“This is part of our effort to reward dedication and ensure quality education delivery. Only those who are qualified and capable will be absorbed into the system,” Governor Yusuf said.

According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the BESDA staff will take an aptitude test to determine their eligibility for permanent employment in the Kano State civil service.

The governor directed the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to begin the screening process immediately. He said those who pass the test would be formally employed.

“This move is not just about job creation; it’s about improving the quality of education in our public schools and ensuring our children are taught by qualified professionals,” Yusuf said.
