Gold Vendor Claims Employee Who Stole ₦100M Jewelry Now Says She Was Kidnapped

A Nigerian gold vendor who recently went viral after accusing her employee, Lucy, of stealing jewelry worth approximately ₦100 million, has shared a shocking new update: Lucy now claims she was kidnapped.
The vendor had previously taken to her X (formerly Twitter) page to seek help after the jewelry went missing, sharing an emotional video that quickly spread across social media platforms. Public sympathy poured in, with many offering assistance and helping amplify her voice.
In a fresh post, however, the vendor revealed that Lucy made contact and claimed she was abducted. According to Lucy, her kidnappers forced her to carry out the theft. The vendor wrote, “Lucy just called. She said she was kidnapped, and the people who kidnapped her told her to steal the jewelry.”
She added that efforts are ongoing to trace the phone number Lucy used to call and track down everyone involved.
The update sparked mixed reactions online. Some users expressed doubt about the kidnapping story, while others encouraged the vendor to continue pursuing justice.
