Ganduje Blasts Buba Galadima as Failed Politician
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has pushed back against recent comments by Alhaji Buba Galadima, who questioned Ganduje’s political relevance.
Responding to Galadima’s remarks in a recent interview—where he claimed Ganduje has no electoral value—Chief Oliver Okpala, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment to the APC chairman, defended his boss’s political record.
“Alhaji Buba Galadima is a failed, rejected, and frustrated politician without any base in Nigeria,” Okpala said. He argued that Galadima lacks credibility and described his political journey as inconsistent and self-serving.
Okpala said it was strange for someone like Galadima, who was once part of the Buhari Organisation but couldn’t help it win elections at the time, to now question Ganduje’s political relevance. “He was a well-known member of the Buhari Organisation but always preferred to take skewed positions that made all attempts to win elections futile. Is that the kind of person who would determine who has electoral value?” he asked.
Defending Ganduje, Okpala pointed to his time as Kano State governor, saying his projects are still visible and that he remains connected to the people. “Ganduje is a well-known, tested, and trusted technocrat and politician who successfully led Kano for two uninterrupted terms,” he said.
He dismissed Galadima’s political relevance, saying, “Where are Galadima’s results? He is a barren, outdated politician who has outlived his usefulness.”
Okpala also claimed that the APC under Ganduje’s leadership is stable, unlike Galadima’s party, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), which he said is struggling with internal problems.
He further accused Galadima of having a poor track record in his political relationships. “Galadima has been known to be a man of acute character deficit, and that was why his long-time benefactor, General Buhari, sacked him,” Okpala said.
He concluded by saying Ganduje remains focused and is not concerned with Galadima’s comments. “Ganduje’s well-known political clout and image have gone before him, creating goodwill for both the APC and President Tinubu,” Okpala said. “A political lilliputian like Buba Galadima cannot speak for the teeming Nigerians, particularly APC members who have clearly shown their acceptance of Dr. Ganduje.”
