Funke Akindele And Nasboi Cries Out Over Traffic Gridlock In Lagos

  • Lagos residents, including notable personalities, experienced heavy traffic on April 2.
  • Traffic congestion was attributed to ongoing road construction in the Lagos Island area.
  • The congestion followed the Eid-el-Fitr holiday, leading to an influx of commuters returning to work.

Like many Lagos residents, some well-known personalities found themselves stuck in traffic on Wednesday, April 2, due to congestion reportedly caused by ongoing road construction in the Lagos Island area.

Following the Eid-el-Fitr holiday on March 31 and April 1, numerous commuters flooded the roads to return to work, only to be met with severe traffic congestion, particularly on different sections of the Third Mainland Bridge.

In addition to the morning’s heavy rainfall, the traffic buildup was largely attributed to the ongoing construction projects in the area.

The situation sparked an outcry on social media, with “Lagos traffic” becoming a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), as frustrated commuters shared their experiences.

Among those affected was Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, who humorously conveyed her ordeal by sharing an amusing image of herself floating in a swimming pool, symbolizing her struggle in the gridlock.

“Me trying to stay afloat in yesterday’s Lagos traffic! Traffic Ana Ma gbomi o 😩 #LagosLife Who else was stuck in traffic yesterday?”
