FG Reiterates Commitment to Industrial Growth, Lauds Mamuda Group

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting industrial growth across Nigeria and enhancing strategic partnerships with the private sector to drive national economic development.

Speaking during an inspection tour of Mamuda Group Nigeria Limited on Wednesday in Kano, the Minister of State for Trade, Investment, and Industry, Senator John Owan-Enoh, lauded the company’s contributions to job creation, innovation, and value addition.

He noted that Mamuda Group embodies the success possible when private enterprise aligns with supportive government policies.

The Minister inspected various subsidiaries of the Mamuda Group, including Foods Nigeria Limited, Beverages, Agro and Allied, and Mamuda Care.

He commended the company for aligning its mission with President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda, particularly in the areas of job creation, local production, and value addition.

“The government cannot build industries by itself. What we can and must do is provide the right policies, infrastructure, and support to help businesses thrive.

“Mamuda Group is a shining example of what is possible when private ambition meets public support.”

The Minister noted that since 2023, the Bank of Industry (BOI) has maintained a strong partnership with Mamuda Group of Companies—a relationship that has yielded measurable results.

“When we see our support being put to productive use, it encourages us to deepen our collaboration. The government, through BOI and other agencies, will continue to provide the enabling environment that industries need to succeed,” he said.

Owan-Enoh stated that, according to records presented during the tour, the company currently employs 13,000 full-time staff and 80,000 part-time workers across various sectors, including agro-processing, food and beverages, among others.

He emphasized that industrial development is not just about business success but also about national stability.

“If these jobs didn’t exist, imagine the consequences for families and communities. Employment is one of the most effective tools for ensuring security and social stability.”

According to him, Mamuda’s success is evidence that President Tinubu’s reforms are working.

“We are on the right path. As a government, we will continue to listen, support, and create the right enabling environment for industries across Nigeria to grow, flourish, and ensure that the right policies are in place,” the Minister said.

Owan-Enoh emphasized the Renewed Hope Administration’s eight-point agenda, particularly the seventh pillar, which prioritizes industrial growth through a digital economy, manufacturing, and innovative technology.

In his remarks, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mamuda Group Nigeria Limited, Mr. Hassan Hammoud, reiterated the Group’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s development goals.

“Your visit today represents more than a courtesy—it signifies a strong partnership and shared commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth.

“Today, we face challenges, especially in areas like foreign exchange and access to ship finance. We have our 31 megawatts of gas and 5 megawatts of solar. If the AKK pipeline becomes operational, it will help reduce our production costs.”

He noted that Mamuda Group is proud to be one of the largest employers in Northern Nigeria.

“We believe that employment is crucial to both economic development and national security.”
