FG declares Friday, Monday as public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mrs Magdalene Ajani.
According to the statement, the holidays are to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday, key events in the Christian faith.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended warm greetings to Christians across the country, urging them to reflect on the virtues of love and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He encouraged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country. Online learning
The minister also reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national development and inclusive growth.
Tunji-Ojo further urged citizens to show love and compassion to one another through acts of kindness and generosity.
He wished Christians a joyful Easter and extended holiday greetings to all Nigerians. (NAN)
