Emir Sanusi Woos Foreign Investors, Assures of Opportunities, Profit Margins in Nigeria

The Emir of Kano, His Highness Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on foreign investors to explore the growing business climate in Nigeria, emphasizing the potential for high returns on investment.

Khalifa Sanusi made the call while speaking to global investors and industry leaders at the International Financial Investment and Trade Conference currently taking place in Tunisia.

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria described Nigeria as one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, noting that the country offers competitive markets and abundant business prospects for capital investment.

He urged multinational companies and investment firms to engage with Nigeria’s expanding economy, highlighting viable sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, ICT, innovation, and finance.

During his remarks, Sanusi referenced the success story of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, whose business empire emerged from the Nigerian economic landscape. He said foreign investors could similarly benefit by leveraging the country’s market potential.

Sanusi also emphasized investment prospects in Kano State, pointing to its socio-economic and natural resources as strategic advantages for investors seeking sustainable growth.

According to him, “Kano remains a hub for trade, commerce, and industry, with a population of 22 million, abundant natural resources, a strategic location, and well-established international markets that serve West and Central Africa and beyond.”

He added that incentives provided by the Kano State Government further promote ease of doing business.

A statement issued by Munir Sanusi Bayero, Galadiman Kano and Chief of Staff to Emir Sanusi, noted that the conference was attended by prominent figures including the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed; Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman; Ambassador Bolaji, representing the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Bianca Ojukwu; and the Director General of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA).
