Emir Muhammadu Isah Umaru Turbans Alhaji Ada’u Isa as New Madakin Rano

The Emir of Rano in Kano State, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Umaru (Autan Bawo), has turbaned Alhaji Ada’u Isa Rano as the new Madakin Rano, one of the senior traditional titles in the emirate.

The turbaning followed a meeting with stakeholders after the death of Justice Wada Umar Rano, the former Madakin Rano and member of the emirate council.

Before the appointment, Alhaji Ada’u Isa held the title of Sarkin Dawaki Babba.

The new role places him among the senior members of the emirate council, with responsibilities in the affairs of the Rano Emirate.

Speaking during the ceremony, Emir Muhammadu Isah Umaru said, “Today, we are not only honoring individuals, but we are also strengthening the pillars of our heritage. The title of Madaki is not given lightly. It is a call to service, integrity, and selfless leadership.”

He added, “We pray that the new Madaki and other titleholders will live up to the expectations of their people. In the footsteps of their predecessors, they must lead with wisdom, protect our traditions, and promote unity and justice in the emirate.”

Other appointments include the elevation of Bello Ma’aji Ali Barden Rano to Sarkin Bai, Alhaji Umar Isah Sarki named Dan Iyan Rano, and Malam Ahmad Kamilu Abdullahi as the new secretary of the emirate

council.
