DSP Udeme Edet Named Benue Police Spokesperson

The Benue State Police Command has announced the appointment of a new Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Udeme Edet.
The appointment follows recent administrative postings approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
DSP Edet, a seasoned officer and graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Relations.
Until her recent appointment, she served as the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) at Ikpai Omni Division in Calabar, Cross River State.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Benue State Police Command called on residents and members of the media to support the new PPRO in her assignment.
“The Benue State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the appointment of a new PPRO, following recent administrative postings approved by the Inspector-General of Police,” the statement read. “DSP. Udeme Edet takes over the duties of public engagement and media relations for the Command.”
The Command expressed optimism about the new appointment, urging the public and stakeholders in the media to cooperate with DSP Edet in her efforts to strengthen police-community relations.
“We call on members of the public and the media to extend their usual cooperation and support to her in strengthening police-community relations and promoting public safety across Benue State,” the statement added.
