Nigerian singer Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, recently stole the spotlight alongside her daughter, Emerald, after a heart-melting video of the duo went viral.
In the clip, Emerald—fresh off her birthday celebrations—was seen sitting beside her mother, who was lying on the bed, as she playfully plotted to set Waje up with one of her friend’s wealthy fathers.
Acknowledging that her mother is single and not actively seeking a relationship, Emerald said she was ready to step in and help. She described Waje as a confident, independent, and beautiful woman, and even posed a question to viewers: “What would you do if your mom was single and gorgeous?”
Emerald confidently vouched for the character of her friends’ parents, insisting that her matchmaking idea wasn’t far-fetched.
Waje, however, wasn’t having it. Laughing at her daughter’s suggestion, she jokingly accused Emerald of “abusing” her with compliments and blamed her antics on watching too many romantic movies. She also said children shouldn’t be trying to pair up their parents.
