Drake Breaks Record For Most Cumulative Weeks On Billboard 200, Surpassing The Beatles

  • Drake has set a new record for the most cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.
  • He surpassed The Beatles, who previously held the record.
  • The achievement coincides with the release of his latest project, $ome $exy 4 U, in collaboration with PartyNextDoor.

Drake has etched his name in history once again, now holding the record for the most cumulative weeks spent on the Billboard 200 chart. The global music icon surpassed The Beatles, who previously held this record, with the release of his latest collaborative project, $ome $exy 4 U with PartyNextDoor. This album marks his 14th No. 1 on the chart as a solo artist.

With this achievement, Drake ties with legends Jay-Z and Taylor Swift, who each have 14 No. 1 albums, placing him just five albums away from The Beatles’ all-time record of 19 No. 1 albums.

$ome $exy 4 U marks Drake’s first full-length project since his public dispute with Kendrick Lamar. The fallout from their rivalry gave rise to the track “Not Like Us,” which led to a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG). In his legal filing, Drake accused the label of allowing the song’s release, which contained harmful false information about him. He further alleged that UMG used bots and other dubious practices to artificially inflate the song’s popularity on streaming platforms like Spotify.

Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be another monumental year for Drake. Recently, he was crowned the highest-selling rapper of 2024 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Additionally, he ranks as the second-best-selling artist of the year, just behind Taylor Swift, who topped the list for the third consecutive time.

Drake’s success in 2024 places him ahead of fellow rap giants like Eminem, who ranks at No. 8, and Kendrick Lamar, who follows at No. 9. This marks the tenth consecutive year Drake has been ranked among the top 10 global artists, solidifying his position as the highest-selling rapper worldwide once again.
