Charly Boy Applauds Senator Natasha’s Bold Helicopter Arrival Amid Rally Restrictions

  • The singer, who is an opinionated figure, publicly supported Natasha’s cause on Instagram, criticizing those who attempted to obstruct her rally.

Nigerian activist and singer Charly Boy has commended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for her fearless decision to arrive at her homecoming rally in Kogi Central via helicopter, defying state-imposed restrictions on her movement and event.

Taking to Instagram, Charly Boy shared a photo of the senator, criticizing those who attempted to prevent her rally from taking place. Expressing his support, he wrote:

Shame to those who blocked the road for Natasha and forgot that the sky is too wide for the beautiful bird to land and take off. Yeye people, una don see wetin pass una. Shameless men. Ur Fada’s.

His post quickly generated reactions, with supporters praising Natasha’s boldness and mocking those who tried to obstruct her event. Some commenters described her actions as an “action movie,” applauding her determination.

The senator’s defiance comes amid an ongoing legal battle with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over allegations of sexual harassment. Following her accusations, Natasha—who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—was suspended from the Senate for six months for alleged rule violations. Reports suggest she now also faces a potential recall, allegedly backed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Despite being instructed to cancel her rally, Natasha circumvented the restrictions by arriving in a helicopter, where she was warmly received by enthusiastic supporters chanting in solidarity. Her bold move has further fueled discussions about political resistance and the suppression of opposition voices in Nigeria.

“My dear people of Kogi Central, I look forward to our PEACEFUL Sallah celebrations today,” she posted on Facebook earlier that morning. However, should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Ododo, Yahaya Bello & SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible,” she said at the rally
