Canada-Based Nigerian Man Laments as Wife Demands Full Custody & Child Support After Split

- A Nigerian man in Canada has publicly accused his wife of demanding custody of their children, child support, and extraordinary expenses, citing his disinterest in the marriage.
- The man disclosed his frustration over the ongoing legal battle through a series of posts on his Facebook page.
A Nigerian man residing in Canada has taken to social media to vent about his ongoing divorce case, accusing his wife of using the legal system to take everything from him—including full custody of their children.
In a series of Facebook posts, the distraught man revealed that his wife had dragged him to court after he chose to end their marriage. According to him, she is demanding exclusive custody of their children and wants full authority over all decisions concerning them, while also pushing for him to cover all expenses, including child support and additional special costs.
The man alleged that despite his wife not contributing meaningfully to their marriage, she is now trying to deprive him of access to their children—the only thing she “contributed.”
He further explained that the court documents served to him required him to disclose all of his assets, including properties located within and outside Ontario.
Expressing his frustration, he accused his wife’s family of trying to leverage his success as a ticket out of poverty, calling the entire situation a calculated attempt to strip him of everything he owns under the guise of divorce proceedings.
One of his posts read:
“You went to court to demand full custody of the kids and to be the sole decision maker. The only thing you want me to do is pay child support, along with special and extraordinary expenses. I can’t even have a say in my kids’ lives. Am I an ATM? All because I said I’m walking away from the marriage.”
“They’re even asking me to list my properties in Ontario and outside Ontario. You won’t understand how I feel until you marry into a family full of lies and deceit—one that thinks you’re a tool to escape poverty. When you stop giving, they start fighting. Don’t ever tell me to delete this post. You are not mad!”
He also reflected on a recent suicide case involving a cardiologist, pointing out the irony that while society urges men to speak out, they are often silenced or dismissed when they actually do.
“A few weeks ago, a cardiologist committed suicide and many said he should have spoken up. Now that I’m speaking up, people want me to pull my posts down. Who gave you the right? I’m sharing this to enlighten innocent men who think love is enough.”
Mocking his wife’s demands, he added:
“The only thing you ever brought to the table is what you’re now fighting for—full custody.”
The man also advised other men to protect their assets before getting married.
“Dear men, if asking a woman what she’s bringing to the table offends her, boot her out. Always sign a prenup. Let them call you names—you’ll be glad you did.”
He shared that just as he was about to pick up the children, he received an email from his wife’s lawyer, which emotionally overwhelmed him. He revealed that her previous attempt to frame him at the police station had failed, and now she is trying to take the children away, effectively cutting him out of their lives.
“You and your mother lived a life you never dreamed of because of me. Now you want to take my money and deny me access to my kids? I’m speaking out now so there’s a record.”
He ended by addressing his children directly:
“Dearest kids, your mother is fighting for full custody and wants to make all decisions without me. She wants me to only provide money, so she can later cry on Facebook about deadbeat fathers. But you know I gave you the best life while I was with you. My dear daughter, I threw the biggest birthday party ever in Sudbury when you turned one—Samuel Eweama and Sunday Chile Thelma were witnesses.”
“Let this serve as evidence: I will never give up on you, my children. No matter what.”
