Burna Boy Issues Stern Warning to Speed Darlington After Prison Release

Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy has seemingly delivered a cautionary message to Speed Darlington following the latter’s recent release from prison.

Darlington, a controversial music personality, was arrested on November 27 while performing in Owerri, Imo State. He faced accusations of cyberstalking Burna Boy, which led to his detention.

The tension between the two began when Darlington publicly taunted Burna Boy over his association with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the embattled US rapper facing serious allegations, including sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Darlington went further to question the legitimacy of Burna Boy’s Grammy win for his acclaimed album Twice As Tall, insinuating a questionable relationship between the Nigerian star and Diddy, the executive producer of the album.

After spending two months in Kuje prison, Darlington was released on Tuesday.

However, Burna Boy appears to have issued a veiled warning to him. In a now-deleted Instagram story post, Burna Boy stated, “If you like misbehave again, you will go back to where you come from! And this time around, there will be no mercy! Don’t mess with ODG.”

Although Burna Boy refrained from mentioning names, the message is widely interpreted as directed at Speed Darlington, given their history.

Darlington’s troubles with Burna Boy date back to October 2024, when he was first detained by the police in Abuja following a formal complaint by Burna Boy.

Although Darlington was released on bail after five days in detention, the animosity persisted, culminating in his November arrest.

With Burna Boy’s recent warning, many are watching to see if the controversial artiste will steer clear of further clashes or if tensions will escalate once more.
