Famous Nigerian comedian, actor, and singer Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has shared his thoughts on the financial impact children have on their parents’ lives.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Basketmouth shared a charming photo of himself with his daughter and son. Reflecting on the lessons children teach their parents, he humorously stated, “While we teach our children the lessons of life, they teach our bank account a greater lesson.”
The post also comes after an emotional video Basketmouth shared of himself taking his son, Jason Okpocha, to college in the United Kingdom. In the video, he captured poignant moments, such as their flight together, registering him at his hostel, and the emotional hug between father and son. He admitted to shedding tears over the high cost of the institution and his sadness about missing his son.
Basketmouth also commemorated Jason’s 16th birthday with a special tribute, declaring the day a public holiday for his son, whom he called a king, and proudly expressed that his firstborn is his “everything.”
In a more personal update, Basketmouth and his wife, Elsie, made headlines in 2022 when they announced the end of their marriage. Though the comedian did not share the reasons behind their separation, he emphasized their commitment to peacefully co-parenting their children and requested privacy during the difficult time.
