APC National Leadership Meets Buhari, Hours After Atiku’s Visit to Kaduna

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Friday led members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to the Kaduna residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ganduje, alongside the National Secretary of the party, Senator Surajuddeen Ajibola, and other members of the NWC, said the delegation visited Buhari to update him on recent developments within the APC and to seek his input as one of its founding members.
“Our visit today is to show respect and appreciation to our leader and mentor, former President Muhammadu Buhari,” Ganduje said. “We are here to inform him of the progress we’ve made since I assumed office as chairman of our great party nearly a year ago.”
Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, said the party has focused on internal cohesion and grassroots mobilization.
Buhari, in his remarks, expressed approval of the update he received from the party leadership.
“I’m very pleased with what I’ve heard today. I commend the chairman and members of the NWC for synergizing and working in unity,” Buhari said. “I remain committed to the growth and success of the APC at all levels.”
The former president, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, urged the party leadership to maintain engagement with stakeholders across the country.
The visit occurred shortly after Buhari met with a separate delegation led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. That group included former governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Achike Udenwa (Imo), Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa), and former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami.
