Anambra 2025: Ezenwafor emerges PDP governorship candidate 

An Abuja-based real estate developer, Chief Jude Ezenwafor, has emerged as the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the upcoming November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.

Ezenwafor, who is the sole aspirant of the PDP was unanimously endorsed by the 853 delegates from the 21 local government chapters of the party in the state at the party’s primary held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, on Tuesday.

He was the only aspirant who purchased the party’s N40 million nomination form for the governorship primary election.

About 14 national delegates were also accredited to take part in the election.

The leader of the PDP National Committee mandated to conduct the party’s governorship primary, Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (retd), declared Ezenwafor the winner of the primary.

Though Ezenwafor was the lone contestant, each delegate was issued a ballot paper to write the name of the candidate he or she voted for.

The delegates cast their votes according to their local governments, while the national delegates were the first to cast their ballots.

Speaking after the primary, Ezenwafor thanked the delegates for their support and urged them to work to ensure the party wins the November 8 governorship election.

“I thank all the delegates for the massive support and their endorsement. We are going to work hard to ensure the party wins the governorship election,” he added.
