Nigerians Marrying All Our Women – Kenyan President William Ruto

Kenya’s President William Ruto has jokingly raised the alarm over what he called a “romantic invasion” by Nigerian men, saying they’re marrying Kenyan women at an impressive rate—including his own daughters.
Speaking at a wedding ceremony recently, Ruto poked fun at the growing number of cross-national unions between Kenyan women and Nigerian men.
In a video shared by Africa Facts Zone on X, the President said two of his daughters are now married to Nigerians, prompting him to ask Kenyan men some tough—and humorous—questions.
“My daughter is married to a Nigerian, and this one too is married to a Nigerian,” Ruto said, pointing at the newlyweds. “And our guys are just standing around—I don’t know, are you slow or what? At this rate, we’re heading for a brain drain in Kenya!”
The President’s remarks were met with laughter, but he also used the moment to highlight the growing bonds between Kenya and Nigeria.
He said these marriages reflect the strength of people-to-people connections between the two countries.
“I think there’s something special between Kenya and Nigeria,” Ruto said. “We should build on it.”
