Kanye West, the acclaimed American rapper and fashion icon, has declared that he is turning away from antisemitism.

In 2022, West ignited widespread backlash after making antisemitic statements, which ultimately led to the collapse of his partnerships with major brands such as Adidas.

More controversy followed in February 2025, when Ye again posted antisemitic tropes and conspiracy theories on social media, even going so far as to express admiration for Adolf Hitler.

Recently, in a series of messages shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, West indicated a change of heart. He credited a FaceTime conversation with his children as the moment that prompted him to reevaluate his actions.

He wrote:

“I simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again…

I forgive those who have caused me pain.

God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused.

I love all people.

I am done with antisemitism.”

Award-winning singer John Legend has opened up about his former friend and collaborator Kanye West, offering his personal view on the rapper’s mental health and increasingly controversial public behavior.

Kanye, who recently claimed he is autistic and was wrongly diagnosed with bipolar disorder, has reignited public discussions about how mental health may influence his actions and inflammatory statements.

In a recent interview with The Times, John Legend shared that he has found Kanye’s transformation over the years both saddening and surprising, especially in light of some of West’s more troubling recent comments.

“It does feel sad, sometimes shocking, to see where he [Kanye West] is now… I didn’t see a hint of what we are seeing now, his obsessions with antisemitism, anti-blackness, and it is sad to see his devolution,” He said.

“But, I don’t think we are qualified to psychoanalyse him, but after his mother passed in 2007 there was definitely a difference. His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently.” he added.

Legend’s comments add to the growing concern among fans, friends, and industry peers who have watched Kanye’s evolution from musical genius to controversial figure with increasing worry.
