A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to criticize a church for allegedly selling her mother a single cherry for ₦1,000, claiming it to be the ‘fruit of life.’
In a widely shared TikTok video, the young woman appears alongside the disputed cherry, explaining that her mother, who is a member of the church, returned home with the fruit after purchasing it for ₦1,000 during a church event.
Expressing her disbelief, she questioned, “Tell me why my mother would go to church and they’ll sell this thing for ₦1,000 to her—fruit of life?”
She further expressed her frustration by stating “What is wrong with Africa and this religion thing? They’ve really brainwashed you people.”
Her reaction elicited a variety of responses online as the video gained traction.

“Eleven years ago, su!cide felt like my only escape. I had 2 extra years, was drowning in debt and gambling addiction, my girlfriend and friends had left, and family had distanced themselves,” he wrote.
“Then I listened to a Myles Munroe tape that transformed my life. He said, “Never apply a permanent solution to a temporary problem.” He also said, “Life is a fight for territory. Whatever you want, your finances, relationships, career, or health, you must fight for it. Keep fighting until you get it right.”
“No matter what you’re facing, it’s temporary. Don’t take your life, no matter how bad it seems. Keep fighting consciously, work on yourself, and prepare for opportunities that will break the chains of mediocrity. Above all, I wish you prosperity and a flourishing soul!.”
