Farmers Voice NG to Launch First Print Edition

Farmers Voice NG, a digital platform focused on agriculture and rural development, will release its first print edition on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

A symposium titled “They Feed the Nation, but Who’s Listening? Why Farmers Should Make Headlines” will accompany the launch.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Federal College of Agriculture and Produce Technology, Kano, beginning at 10:00 AM.

It will be chaired by Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

Speakers include Dr. Gambo S. Nababa, Head of Mass Communication at Bayero University Kano; Dr. Isah Nasidi of Baze University, Abuja; Malam Ibrahim Musa Gingiyu, Bureau Chief of Daily Trust, Kano; and Maryam Mohammed, a communication expert from Maryam Abacha American University.

According to a statement from the editorial office of Farmers Voice NG, the symposium aims to connect farmers’ concerns with broader media coverage.

“This event is a clear call to give voice to those who till the land, grow our food, and sustain our markets — not just in policy discussions or specialized publications, but on the front pages and in the main headlines,” the statement read.

The print edition will expand the platform’s coverage of rural communities, smallholder farmers, women in agriculture, herders, and farm laborers.

“The new print edition builds upon the platform’s digital achievements and represents a significant step forward in agricultural journalism,” the statement added.

Invitations have been sent to journalists, civil society groups, farmer associations, students, and policymakers.

“This is more than a launch,” the statement concluded. “It is a movement to ensure that the people who feed the nation are heard, seen, and prioritized in our national narrative.”
